Why We Started All About USA: An Immigrant’s Journey to Empower Others

I’m a journalist and community advocate who moved to the United States more than 13 years ago.
I came here alone, full of hope, and quickly realized that starting a new life in a completely different country was much more than a physical move — it was an emotional, cultural, and mental transformation.

The Immigrant Experience: Learning and Unlearning

Becoming an immigrant in a new country — especially one so developed and so different from where you grew up — feels like being born again.
You don’t just learn new things; you also have to unlearn a lot of what you once knew.

I still remember those small, everyday confusions that no one really talks about.
I’d ask myself: Is it called a shopping cart or a trolley? A trunk or a diggi?
Sometimes people around me had answers, sometimes they didn’t.
Every day came with a small moment of curiosity, hesitation, and learning.

From Struggle to Vision

Online search wasn’t what it is today. Technology was still developing, and finding reliable information — especially for immigrants — was hard.
And even now, it’s still a challenge to separate right information from wrong or outdated sources.

That’s when an idea started to form.
Instead of struggling alone, why not create something that helps others walking the same path?

So, with a few amazing friends who shared the same vision, we began collecting information — about housing, healthcare, education, voting, and community life — all the things immigrants need to understand to truly build a life here.

The Birth of All About USA

That’s how All About USA was born — a platform for awareness, guidance, and empowerment.
Our goal is simple: to make the immigrant experience easier, clearer, and more connected.

We’ve started this journey, but there’s still a long way to go.
We want to keep building, expanding, and translating information into multiple languages — so no one feels lost or left out.
